Find Out Who Your Friends Are

You find out who your friends are
Somebody's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas, get there fast

Never stop to think, 'Whats in it for me?'
Or 'Its way too far.'
They just show on up with their big ol' heart
You find out who your friends are.

So it's been a crazy week. For the most part, I spent nearly 12 hours on campus every day, trying to get my work done. Now that things are picking up and I'm starting to understand the cases and the concepts we're trying to get from them, I'm really enjoying my classes. We had a massive assignment due Thursday night. We're not allowed to talk about the details of the assignment until we get clearance from our professors, so it became known as "the assignment-that-must-not-be-named," aka "Voldemort." This assignment just completely drained most of us, so on Friday I read a book. A fiction book that had nothing to do with law. It was wonderful. Haha.

Last night, some 1L's got together and just hung out. It was great to get to know each other as people for once, and not just as fellow law students. Being invited, hanging out, hugging everyone...I finally feel like we're letting our guards down and being more of ourselves bit by bit. Turns out there are quite a few Dr. Who fans, all eagerly awaiting the November special. Marie, one of my closer friends, hasn't seen Dr. Who, so we've decided we need to change that. :D

I joined a small group at my church, getting plugged in is a wonderful feeling. I'm helping to lead worship for the law school's chapel. I ALMOST ran for SBA representative, but I decided that leading worship would be a much better thing for me; after all, I still need to give time to my classes. 2 months here, tomorrow, and I'm starting to feel like I have a life here. I'm not just passing through.

So today it's back to work. I'm with a couple of friends at a coffee shop and I'm going to attempt to knock out most of my Monday and Tuesday homework. That way, I'm not so behind and get to bed at a decent time. Maybe, I'll have time to go to the gym, too. That would be wonderful.

I got a bunch of responses about sending me mail! It means a lot. :] I miss you guys all the time, and the attempts to keep in touch mean more than you know. Chances are, I'm coming back to California after law school. I'll explain that at a later date (I need to get to work!).

To my family reading this, Starbucks is part of my survival, so if you're feeling generous, gift cards are a wonderful blessing. Haha. :]

I'll see most of you soon enough, and I'm so thankful for all the support. Keep keeping in touch, even if I don't always respond right away (or at all),I see it and am constantly encouraged. I think I figured out the subscription issue, so if you want to subscribe to my blog, you should be able to, now.

I'll write again soon. <3
