Down This Road

Been away much longer than I would of liked
Got caught up in that nine to five
Ain't seen my mama in too many nights
But I'm coming home, down this road

Why hello there!

It's been quite a while since my last update. Really though, nothing has been all too exciting on our end since the wedding. But seeing as I have some updates, I thought I would post. :)

The question I get most often from folks I haven't talked to in a while is "How's married life?" Well, married life isn't all that different than life was shortly before getting married, and even less so now that there's a rhythm to it. Haha. Generally speaking, we're doing well. We're happy, and I think that's what counts.

Our biggest adjustment was the acquisition of our kitten. :) Most of you probably saw the pictures on Facebook about her when we got her in September.  Her name is Luna and she's grown up a lot since then and she can get reach all the inconvenient spaces now. She's got a lot of sass, but she's adorable and we love her (and while I love her more than Kris does, she loves Kris far more than she does me). She's wonderful, but she definitely has shown us we're not looking to be actual parents anytime soon, that's for sure.

We haven't really been able to go places due to work and not really having extra funds to travel. BUT! We did take a trip to the outer banks in North Carolina a couple weekends ago as an early celebration of our anniversary. Since our actual anniversary is right at the beginning of the tourist season, the prices skyrocket and we wouldn't have been able to afford it. So we went and took a weekend to ourselves and relaxed. It wasn't super warm so we didn't hang out on the beach, but we did go to mini golf! That was super fun. Kris totally beat me, but he kept insisting that I won.

I had really wanted to go to the aquarium, but it was closed for renovations. :(

Later this month or next month, we're going to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens again to see their LanturnAsia display. I'll definitely post again with pictures of that!

So. There is news.

For the last year and a half, there has been talk about us moving back to California. We've gone back and forth on it. Back when the idea was originally brought up, I was vehemently opposed to it. Kris had just moved out here and we were both just getting settled. So we had stubbornly decided to stay. But then, some time passed and we revisited the idea a few months ago. After much discussion, we have decided to move back.  :)

We'll be moving in with my mama in Sacramento for a bit to get some things taken care of. After that, we'll see where things go. It's a very bittersweet thing. While moving back is the best course of action for us, neither Kris or I really want to leave, either. We've come to feel quite at home here.

As it stands, the moving date is June 15th (we're flying since we'll have the cat).

If anyone knows anything about a shipping company for furniture, or strategies for transporting animals across country....any advice is appreciated.

Also, to all my Sacramento friends, if you know of any job openings in administration or computers, let me know. :) We've been starting to look from out here but no luck yet.

Hope all of you are well!
